I finally got back out for my first wedding of 2007. It is so fun to shoot wonderful couples and this time it was Carol and Min. The wedding was held at Community Presbyterian Church in La Mirada and the reception followed right after. I love it when the day flows so freely, you kinda lose track of time. I got to shoot with Terrence Bishop for this day and he is always a thrill to work with.
Here is a great resource for those Brides of 2007. There are some great things and pieces of advice, which hope to make your Special Day that much more Special!!
A wedding photgrapher…..but there are NO wedding shots on this blog!!! I cant believe its the start of a new year. Last year at this time I was still adjusting to the newlywed stage of my own wedding, not knowing what to do in life, when the idea of putting one of my loves (taking pictures) and a very special day (my wedding) together and diving in headfirst to begin taking part in photographing and documenting weddings. I really cant believe Ive even come this far, but I am loving every minute and cant wait till this is my life…..full time. So Ive decided to put 2006 behind me and look forward to even better and more exciting things to come for 2007!!
As for those wedding shots, my first wedding this year will be this Saturday in La Mirada. It will be the first of many wedding and engagement shoots this year and you can check back here for some of the highlights of the day from each and every event I shoot. Thanks for visiting.
Im sure many of you have old boxes filled with photos and they have started taking up nooks and crannies in all corners of your closet. Here’s a site that is invaluable if you have some old photos sitting around. There are tons of project ideas whether you want to use them around the house or for some type of theme to your wedding…..or just feel like being a little creative one night.
Once you get to the bottom of the page, you can hit the “next” button for more archives…..Youll be really surprised what you come up with.
Everytime I try on a new pair of jeans, something isnt right. Legs are too long…..thighs are too tight…..booty looks too flat or too big. As a way to narrow that quest for the perfect pair of jeans, try this out!!
Just enter in some “Let’s talk about you” info and, Voila, it will give you a list of jeans that are supposed to be fit to your liking. Ive just tried it out, but havent had the time to try any of their choices just yet, so I dont have a conclusion. Maybe those that do have the time can post some comments if it did or didnt work for them.
This weekend was a mini accomplishment of sorts. I headed back home to Rowland on Saturday and managed to run 4 miles in anticipation of the Huntington Beach half marathon better known as the Pacific Shoreline marathon. This will be my 4th time running it, but my first with hardly any training. Saturday was really my first day running, except for a couple miles a few weeks ago. I also got to see Mia, my adorable niece, and almost made it to my dentist appointment, which they cancelled. Ended the night with Coach Carter, a movie we had on DVR, which left me crying all night.
Sunday, I got the chance to meet Jim Kennedy, one of Orange County’s most successful photographers, at his studio on Main Street in HB. He is a mastermind at how to run a wedding photography business, and has one of the most impressive studios Ive ever seen. I got the chance to meet 5 other photographers who attended the workshop and strolled down Main Street with them afterwards to No Ka Oi, for some tasty eats. Greg met me there and we both had Haole burgers, which is highly recommended. Actually everything looked good and we plan to visit again. Next week its back to the wedding scene, as Im shooting one Saturday and attending one on Sunday.
From front (clockwise)…Brad, Andy, Numan (hopefully I spelled it right), Stephanie, Rowena, and me…. with Greg taking the picture.
Tha Haole Burger!! Its huge. I only finished half and Greg barely got into the 2nd half.
Our new media room looks like its finally coming to life. We had to fix some damage to the walls due to a little rain damage, but the first coats of paint are up and it is coming along nicely. Most of the carpet has been pulled and bamboo floors have arrived. This is our first time trying to install hardwood, so hopefully Greg gets out of this without any major injuries!! We hope to have this room complete by late February or early March. Of course, the sooner the better.
Im happy to say that I finally have something Apple! After bugging Greg for so long, he surprised me over the holidays and I finally get to enjoy my iPod. Even though it is a few weeks past Christmas, I finally received my 8gb Nano about a week ago, since we ended up returning the 30gb video version. I was not able to get the Special Edition (RED) one, so I had to settle with the plain black one. I still love it! It is so compact compared to the video version…..and who is going to watch a video on that tiny screen anyways??
So, this is kind of like me at home, except I just sing more than dance.
Well….at least not yet. Our new years goal is to have Lillian Hasenaka Photography get off the ground and start shooting more weddings. I want to make clients feel at home during our first meeting and present a little WOW factor at the same time….so we decided to rip up a room and try to present something where our clients can kick up their feet, be comfy, and really get to know what Im about and what I can provide on their Special Day.
Here are some initial shots of what we have to work with and hope that many of you will get to enjoy it with us (It will look much better soon).
Happy New Years everyone!!
Here on my blog…I will be sharing & posting pics of personal and professional events in my life so that I can keep family, friends and clients new & old up to date. Here goes my 1st post on my blog.
I am happy to announce that my website finally went live last week… take a look when you have a chance at www.lillianhasenaka.com.
Greg & I also started renovation on my new viewing room (aka…client meeting room/home movie theater). We painted the walls a dark reddish brown and ripped out the carpet to install wood floors. It’s looking real nice already. Can’t wait til it’s done. I’ll post some pics later.
Well…it’s gonna be another busy year, but I’m definetly looking forward to it.
Hope you all have a happy & prosperous 2007!!
